Peace Corps Volunteer Memories
Here is a collection of pictures and stories from Peace Corps Volunteers who lived and worked in the Northern Mariana Islands (NMI) and Micronesia in the late 1960's and early 1970's. PCVs were no longer eligible to work in the NMI when it became a Commonwealth of the United States. Many of the RPCVs on these page still get together for reunions and visits. Some made their homes in the NMI and others have made return trips and visited. We're working with the Museum of the Peace Corps Experience to make content like this more available. We are also in communication with Northern Mariana College about adding to the CNMI Official Archives housed there. Planning is on hold right now as they recover from severe typhoon damage. Hope they will be able accept the digital "Peace Corps Volunteer Memories" when we have it ready to give to the archive. The Mayor of Rota has offered to assist with captions for photographs as have many individuals.
